At Bústólpi, farmers are offered to have their home-grown grain processed and pelleted. The grain is accepted after drying. Then the grain is first ground and molasses is added to it. The grain is then heat treated and pelleted. Conventional pelletized barley is barley with the addition of 4% molasses. After processing, it is packed in a big sack or transported home to the person in question in a feed truck and pumped into a feed silo on the farm.

If desired, the grain is mixed with more raw materials such as protein sources, fishmeal or soybean meal, along with vitamins and minerals so that the result is a core feed mixture that suits everyone.

Below are some pictures that describe the process of receiving and processing grain that farmers bring to Bústólpur.
